Military Technology in person
As in previous years, the Hungarian Defence Forces will be welcoming visitors to the City Park over two days this year, offering unique military experiences, impressive military technology and exciting interactive programmes. Visitors will be able to get up close to the armed forces’ state-of-the-art equipment and gain an insight into the daily lives of soldiers, whilst also seeing military vehicles such as the Leopard 2A7HU tank, the PzH 2000 self-propelled howitzer, the Lynx KF41 infantry fighting vehicle, the Gidrán, the 120 mm mortar, the HMMWV, the Polaris MZR4 and Sportsman XP, and the MB Unimog 4000/U4000.
The exhibition also features several air defence systems – some of which will be in model format. Among the military equipment on display, visitors will also be able to view digital military gear, bomb and chemical protection suits, naval and ceremonial uniforms, sniper camouflage gear, diving kits and metal detectors.
There will be something to suit all ages at the various outdoor stations: among other things, visitors will be able to try out an interactive mobile mine-detection terrain table, a naval history exhibition, communications equipment, a recruitment and career guidance point, a laser tag course and laser gun target practice, airsoft guns, a shooting simulator, a mobile obstacle course, face painting, a VR simulator, a bomb disposal robot, a drone obstacle course, SERE and C-IED demonstrations, a weapons technology demonstration, and forensic and accident investigation equipment.
The programme is further complemented by live demonstrations:
- Explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) dog demonstration – 11:00 AM, 1:30 PM
- Military close-combat demonstration – 12:00 PM, 3:00 PM, 4:30 PM
- Miskolc Field Reserve Brass Band – 1:00 PM
Alongside these programmes, it's also worth visiting the neighboring Vajdahunyad vára (Vajdahunyad Castle), which is open free of charge on these days, so visitors are free to discover the castle's special atmosphere as well.
