The Hungarian Bakers’ Association presented awards in three categories at its professional competition held in connection with August 20. In addition to the Country’s Bread, winners were also announced in the Innovative Bread and Walking Pastry categories.

For the 15th time, Hungary’s Sugar-Free Cake has been selected in the competition organized by the One Drop Attention Foundation. This year’s winning cake, Szilvafácska, is both nostalgic and modern, and contains no added sugar at all.

A record number of contestants entered this year, with last year’s winner ultimately defending its title in the 2026 Hungary’s Cake of the Year competition. The winner of this year’s Hungarian Cottage Cheese and Sour Cream theme, the Bíborfehér cake is an elegant and exciting pastry creation that brings together silky dairy products and refreshing berries.
