Street of Hungarian Flavours
The Magyar Ízek Utcája (Street of Hungarian Flavours) is the most significant gastronomic festival in the Carpathian Basin, held every year in connection with the 20 August national holiday at the Várkert Bazár (Castle Garden Bazaar). At the event, visitors can discover traditional Hungarian food culture and the region's culinary heritage, while tasting treasures from small-scale producers and artisan delicacies. Throughout the programme, visitors can sample characteristic dishes from different regions, and can also take home artisan cheeses, meats, baked goods, jams, honeys, and wines, among other things.
The highlight of the event is the debut of this year's Magyarország Tortája (Cake of Hungary) (available 20–21 August), now also made in a sugar-free version, and visitors can also taste the official Saint Stephen's Day bread here. The gastronomic experiences are further complemented by family programmes, concerts, and cultural demonstrations amid the bustle along the Danube bank.
10:00–16:00: "There's a Dog Fair in Buda Again!"
Appearance by the Szent Ferenc Állatotthon (St. Francis Animal Home), the Futrinka Egyesület (Futrinka Association), and the Tappancs Segítőkutyások Egyesület (Tappancs Assistance Dogs Association).
