20 August is not just about the founding of the state, but also about community: about how we spend time together, and what we eat and drink on this day. This year’s menu also embodies this spirit: we are preserving traditional flavours, whilst also expanding the selection with modern, contemporary dishes.

Smaller, family-run and artisan businesses will play a prominent role, offering discounted prices to ensure that festive hospitality is accessible to everyone. Most stallholders will also be offering vegetarian options. There will be bars and drinks counters at every venue.

At the fireworks production area on the Buda Embankment, we’ll be offering the following selections:

• Catering stall serving shashlik, lángos, giant pancakes, spiral potatoes and homemade rétes
