Island of Experiences

On August 20–21, Margitsziget (Margaret Island) will host the two-day, free-to-attend Island of Experiences (Élménysziget) event series, welcoming families and anyone looking to unwind. At one of Budapest's most beautiful outdoor venues, every generation can find something to enjoy: the youngest visitors can look forward to a baby play area with developmental activities, while older children can try face painting, the bouncy castle, or marvel at the spectacular giant bubble show. Children can take part in various workshops — from (mock) cow milking to screen printing — and can also test their skills in exciting obstacle challenges on the Mini Ninja course, the inflatable climbing wall, or the digital reflex track. Special programmes await them too, such as the circus play-house, the interactive eco-instrument demonstration, or lasso throwing; they can also test their strength against Toldi (the legendary strongman of Hungarian folklore), and even make themselves a uniquely decorated hat!

At this event series taking place on Margitsziget, the whole family can celebrate together, while children spend their time outdoors in the fresh air with active and creative programmes. During the day on August 20, visitors can also listen to concerts from the Beats Sziget music programme series, and in the evening they can admire the breathtaking installations of the Fénykert ("Garden of Light") set up in the Rózsakert (Rose Garden).
