Anima Sound System, Disztkótér

Anima Sound System DJ set (Disco Square)

Venue: Kossuth Square

Following the spectacular evening light show and fireworks, the whole nation can celebrate together at Kossuth tér (Kossuth Square) at a large-scale party that stretches into the night. At the Disco Square held in front of the Parliament building, popular current hits will play alongside well-known songs from past decades on the evening of August 20, so that every generation can find their favourite tunes, and exciting surprise performers will also help create an unforgettable atmosphere.

The legendary Anima Sound System has been creating non-stop for 33 years, performing live and DJing, bringing literature and contemporary electronica from the USA all the way to the shores of the Black Sea, getting audiences dancing and singing along, with an eventful history behind them. They've played everywhere from London to Moscow, worked with world-famous producers, and had their music featured in a film by Oscar-winning director Kevin McDonald, as well as on Buddha Bar's first album — with sales in the millions — which featured two of their tracks at once, tracks the whole world has come to know since. Now they're preparing a special AV set packed with Anima songs: visuals and samples, '68 and Reading is Sexy, along with tracks from their Sword and Scythe project drawing on ancient patterns, brought to you by bandleader Zsolt Prieger and his producer partner Tibor Kováts — and they won't leave the special remixes of Tedd a napfényt be a számba and Még, még behind either, all to conjure up a frenetic night for their audience.
